Bio

Welcome to James Photography, the digital home of my photography pursuit. I guess all this started as a kid, when I'd spend hours ingesting used National Geographic magazines, thinking "some day as a photographer I'll get published!" I have, and it's been exciting. My father was an avid hobby photography, so the acorn doesn't fall far from the tree.

Later in life, the business aspect of it was spawned when friends said my pics were better than the pros they hired, so I figured "What the heck - let's hang a shingle!", marking the creation of James Photography. Then later in September of 2002, this website made its debut into the digital ether.

The bulk of my professional development consists of a distance learning course from the famous New York Institute of Photography, and being mentored in camera technique and Photoshop skills by one of Canada's top landscape and nature photographers - Darwin Wiggett.

In 2021 I retired from shooting commercially, but still do shoot and write for the love of it when the spirit moves. So, there will always be updated content here to view... my gallery, some instructive articles, and other things. Please enjoy!

Cheers!
